Research Update
Apologies for not updating my blog for a while. I've been working full time (ish) since May so haven't had as much time to focus on my research. That doesn't mean I haven't done any, just that I haven't been as active with it as I once was. Hopefully I'll start to have a bit more time again soon and will be able to continue with my profiles for my various ancestors.
Anyway, here is what I have been doing since I last posted.
On my previous post I said that I was awaiting a birth certificate for George H Major. I received the birth certificate and found out that George was in fact George Henry Major. He was born on 22nd March 1913 in Crowfield, Syresham. His mother was Charlotte Elizabeth Major as I was already aware. There was no father listed so this was yet another illegitimate child of Charlotte's. This takes the total up to 5.
Further research on George has uncovered his death record. He died in May 1987 and his death was registered in Northampton. I'm yet to find out whether he was married or had children of his own but I'm sure I'll find it at some point.
I've also been research another one of Charlotte's children. Her eldest daughter Lilian Florence Major was born in 1897. I've known for a while that she was sent to an industrial school in Coventry and through a random Google search found out that she ended up in Dartford, Kent. Thanks to a lovely person on Facebook I have been able to find the information about her admission to the industrial school and how long she was there for.
Other than that I don't have much to report. I will update soon and hopefully write up about Charlotte, Lilian and other's in the family
