William Miller

William Miller was born on 13^thMarch 1847 in Lytham, Lancashire.  His parents were Thomas Miller  and Sarah Cartmel.  William was baptised on 4^th April 1847 (Easter Day) in St Cuthberts Church, Lytham, Lancashire.

William and Margaret had 6 children, Thomas Brooks, William, John, Ralph, Henry and Elizabeth Alice.

William was a signalman of the Lytham Lifeboat Station from 11^th October 1895 to 9^th December 1920.  According to the Station Meeting Minutes he retired due to ill health on the 9^th December 1920 but official retired on 4^th February 1921 when his successor was appointed.  William had received a pension from the Lifeboat Station after 25 years of service.

William died on 15^thNovember 1921 in Lytham, Lancashire. The minutes from the Lytham Lifeboat Station dated 3^rd March 1922 report his death (and coincidently that of his successor) and the Station AGM a few days later reported it was in November 1921.
