Anne Elizabeth Ayres was born on 15th October 1857 in Helmdon, Northamptonshire.[1] Her parents were John Ayres and Esther Cadd. Anne was baptised on 6thDecember 1857 in Helmdon, Northamptonshire.

Anne married Timothy Humprhey Major on September 18th 1875 in Helmdon, Northamptonshire. Both Timothy and Ann were 17 years old. The witnesses were John Flavers and Sarah Ann Southam. At the time Anne was listed as residing in Falcutt, Northamptonshire.[2]
In 1881, Timothy and Ann were living in Church Street, Helmdon, Northamptonshire with their daughters. Timothy was working as an agricultural labourer. The occupants were:

Anne left Timothy at some point between 1892 and 1897. Walter Edward Major (pg....) was the last child of the couple and Anne registered his birth in 1892. According to the family Annie left leaving Lottie to care for the children.
Anne and Timothy had had 7 children, Charlotte Elizabeth, Susannah Mary, Lettie Sophia Harriett, Edith Lucretia Anne, William John, Florence May, and Walter Edward (Edward John).
Anne left Timothy for Robert Williams from Liverpool. According to family, Robert was a worker on the railway in Helmdon.
In 1901, Annie and Robert were living at Meadow Works, 7 Claypit Lane, Rawmarsh, Rotherham, Yorkshire as a married couple (they were not married at this point). The occupants were:

On 11th September 1909, Annie and Robert married at the Register Office in Doncaster, Yorkshire. They were both listed as living at 24 Garden Street, Carr Hill, Balby. The witnesses were H J Houghton and A Houghton. Annie was listed as a widow (Timothy was still alive at this time).[3]
In 1911, Annie and Robert were living at 5 Princess Street, Pontefract Park, Tanshelf, Yorkshire. The occupants were:

Annie and Robert were listed as being married for 32 years.
Annie and Robert had two children, Samuel Arthur and Phyllis Maud.
Annie died on 14th February 1934 at Paradise Gardens, Pontefract, Yorkshire. The cause of death was myocardial degeneration. Her death certificate states she was the widow of Robert Williams living at 5 Princess Street, Pontefract. Her death was registered by her son in law C. Connor on 15th February 1934. [4]
