Theophilus William Hall

1850 – 1931

Theophilus William Hall was born on 16 August 1850  in Rugby, Warwickshire.   His parents were James Hall and Lucy Grant.  He was baptised on 3rd November 1850 in Harborough Magna, Warwickshire.

In 1851, Theophilus was living with his parents and family at Keeper Lodge, Harborough Magna, Warwickshire.  The occupants were:

Theophilus Hall Son 7 months 

In 1861, Theophilus was living with his parents and family in Harborough Magna, Rugby, Warwickshire.  The occupants were

He married Sarah Ann Croft on 18 September 1873 at Churchover, Warwickshire.

Sarah Ann died in 1877. Theophilus and Sarah had 2 children, Thomas James and Joseph. 

In 1879 Theophilus married Lucy Hughes in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.  

In 1881, Theophilus was living in Harborough Magna, Warwickshire.  He was listed as married but was the only person listed in the house on the census. 

In 1891, Theophilus and Lucy were living in Harborough Magna, Warwickshire.  He was working as a shepherd.  The occupants were:

Theophilus  and Lucy had 8 children, Harriet Violet, Percy William, Edgar Hughes, John Thomas, John Henry, Ada Lucy, Elsie May, and William Earnest. 

Theophilus died in December 1931 in Harborough Magna, Warwickshire.

  Elizabeth Arnold was the wife of James William Arnold (known as William Arnold) of A & W Arnold, Northampton. Born in Northampton in 1861 to Alfred Walker, was a boot fitter from Alfred’s Place St Sepulchre’s Northampton , and Elizabeth Harriet Cox, from Thrapston, Northampton, she married William Arnold on 30 th November 1885 at St Michaels Church, Northampton.[1] Elizabeth Arnold, Primitive Methodist Magazine, 1928 We can make assumptions about Mrs Arnold’s demeanour from the personal recollections of her husband, William.
