Betsey Hammond

1894 – 1980

Betsey Hammond was born on 3^rdDecember 1894 in Towcester, Northamptonshire.  Her parents were William Thomas Hammond  and Charlotte Elizabeth Key Ratledge.

Betsey was baptised on July 10^th 1898 in Towcester, Northamptonshire.

In 1901 Betsey was living in Sargents Yard, Towcester, Northamptonshire with her parents and family.  The occupants were:-

Walter and Betsey had three children, twins Edward John and William Thomas, and a daughter Winifred May

Betsey died on 1^stOctober 1980 in Danetre Hospital, Daventry, Northamptonshire

Betsey was buried in the Brackley Road Cemetery in Towcester.  The inscription on the headstone reads:

“In memory of Walter Edward Dearly Beloved Husband of Bessie Major Aged 56 “I love you dear and always will.  Your vacant place No on can ever fill” And Bessie Died 1^stOctober 1980 Aged 84”
